Michels has catered the Flyers Ball in Longreach many years in a row, most recently in October 2026. At the Longreach Showgrounds, around 680 km by road from our Townsville kitchen, we served canapés to 800 guests and provided the service staff for the night.

Rural Women Unite Ladies Luncheon, Charters Towers
We've catered the Rural Women Unite Ladies Luncheon at the Charters Towers Jockey Club for a number of years, including 2025 and 2026. This year 500 guests sat down to lunch, about 135 km from our Townsville kitchen. Six chefs and seven wait staff served alternate-drop mains of smoky maple chipotle pressed beef shank and roasted pork belly. A carrot, kale and chickpea fritter catered for gluten-free and vegan guests, and dessert platters of cheese, chocolates and petit fours went to every table.
